300PB Pledged to Autonomys Mainnet as $AI3 Rewards Activated

We are thrilled to announce that the Autonomys community has reached the Mainnet Phase-1 Space Race Escape Velocity target of 210 petabytes (PB) of total pledged storage, activating on-chain $AI3 farming rewards. This achievement is a testament to the strength, determination, and unity of our global community as we continue to push the boundaries of decentralized storage and infrastructure.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our farmers, and contributions from the community, Autonomys is able to balance its goals of robust network security and accessibility for all. Together we have built a truly decentralized, community-driven network that stands as a foundation for the future of AI and blockchain innovation.

This historic milestone was marked by the solution range adjustment in block #213696, where the network reached and then surpassed the pledged storage required to activate rewards. >300PB are currently pledged to the Autonomys Network across 2,000+ farmer nodes. Every byte of storage pledged strengthens the network, enhances its security, and takes us one step closer to realizing our vision of a decentralized, human-centric AI infrastructure. Farmers earning $AI3 tokens for their contribution ensures their hard work and trust in our vision are recognized and fairly rewarded.

Autonomys x Fluence: Decentralizing Cloud Computing for AI3.0 Applications

Key Aspects of the Partnership

Verifiable Cloudless Compute: Fluence’s verifiable decentralized computing will enhance Autonomys’ AI3.0 infrastructure by providing additional distributed CPU and GPU resources for both general-purpose and compute-intensive machine learning tasks to Autonomys’ upcoming execution domains. Announcing the Autonomys Mainnet Launch Space Race

We are incredibly excited to announce tentative dates for our Space Race to activate mainnet rewards! As well as marking the live launch of the Autonomys Network Mainnet Phase-1, the Space Race is a pivotal event that guarantees our consensus is robust from the start.

As the number of farmers and total amount of plotted space on the network grows, our Proof-of-Archival Storage (PoAS) consensus becomes increasingly secure. The Space Race is designed to ensure this happens as quickly as possible by establishing decentralized consensus across the network before rewards are activated.

Farmers’ participation is crucial to the success of the Space Race as they contribute the storage and computational resources needed to bootstrap the live network during our most critical cold-start period. The Space Race will be a global, community-driven effort, with farmers racing collectively and collaboratively to achieve the target amount of space pledged. The entire network’s health, stability and future scalability relies on achieving secure consensus, and our farmer community’s contribution ensures the Autonomys blockchain is secured by real, decentralized participation.

Phases of the Space Race

Phase-1: Launchpad — 6 Nov

The Subspace Foundation launches the network and infrastructure on a launch party call with a Proof-of-Time (PoT) seed ceremony. Genesis Data seeding commences, enabling farmers to join the network, plot, and sync their nodes via instructions shared with the community.

Phase-2: Lift-off — 13 Nov

The Space Race starts when data seeding is complete, the initial solution range is set, and the target amount of pledged storage is announced via a community event, allowing farmers to begin producing blocks (farming). Farmers that plot the first sectors on mainnet are eligible for the highest rewards on our issuance curve once they’re enabled.

Phase-3: Escape Velocity — unknown

Mainnet rewards are automatically activated (and farmers start earning $AI3) when the Space Race target is reached — announced via an ad-hoc async community event. As the community will determine when we hit the target, it could happen at any time post-Phase-2, meaning we cannot accurately provide a date for this up-front.

Important information

Farmers can watch the community’s progress towards the Space Race target via our awesome community plot-o-meters, and check their $AI3 rewards (converted from tSSC) earned across our series of incentivized testnets via the Astral Rewards Checker. A detailed paper explaining the initial utility of our native $AI3 token is forthcoming.

The Space Race to launch Mainnet Phase-1 is what we have all been waiting for, and is the culmination of so much hard work from the Autonomys team and community (not least our dress-rehearsal Mini, Nano and Micro Space Races over the last year).

Autonomys is providing the distributed storage, while Glacier Network is spearheading the decentralized database layer. Key Aspects of the Partnership

Decentralized Storage: Glacier is integrating GlacierDB, its decentralized database layer, with Autonomys’ permanent distributed storage network (DSN) to enhance both projects’ decentralized data management capabilities. Pairing the programmable data composability of Glacier’s trustless AI data layer with the permanence of Autonomys’ mainnet DSN will allow users to easily store and access Glacier’s infrastructure for agents, models and datasets. Data Availability: Glacier Network is bringing GlacierDA, the modular data availability layer for AI3.0, to the Autonomys Network.
